The arguments used by allopathic medical doctors against alternative medicine are becoming more nonsensical every day. In particular, one of these jaundiced critics who regularly demonises ‘nutritionists’ does so in a newspaper notorious for its government funding of advertisements of state-sponsored non-jobs that do nothing more than waste millions of pounds of taxpayers money. Without the taxpayer underwriting this newspaper it is doubtful if it would continue to exist as its readership is pretty low. No doubt this arch quackbuster is paid handsome, public money being used. You will by now know who he is, the first part of his name is the alchemical metal that was transmuted from lead. Unfortunately for him, his thinking is still leaden and has not been transmuted into gold.
Without taxpayer funding this stupid little biased rag read by all the trendy left wing luvvies would have gone to the wall a long time ago. These non-productive ‘jobs’ are regularly advertised in this ‘newspaper’ and no doubt he got his job as a medical journalist by applying for one! These posts, all in the public sector, require lots of state-registered qualifications - worthless ‘ologies’ in any type of hairbrained social type junk science you can think of from suspect ‘universities’ that were bog-standard polytechnics before, but are now approved by the state. This was done so that there could be ‘degrees for all’ - all that is except the natural health practitioners.
The degrees in nutrition and homeopathy have attracted the most ferocious attack from these pharma-funded Quackbusters. Underneath all the concern for the public’s welfare is the real agenda – and this is to impose restrictions on the scope of practice and titles available to lay homeopaths, nutritionists and other natural health therapists.
This vociferous attacker of all things ‘unscientific’ no doubt thinks that these type of ‘qualifications’ are perfectly worthy of respect and status. In order to get into one of these ‘universities’ usually what is needed are a few ‘A’ levels of questionable standard, and usually a pass or two graded down from the bottom of the alphabet, probably an Omega level would do. Subjects like P.E., International Relations, Golf, Knitting and all sorts of others that require the intellectual rigour needed to read a copy of the Beano. Is this science or considered worthy by academia? Obviously it is, but take a course in nutrition or homeopathy and shock, horror, it is as if you have committed the most heinous crime. There has been plenty of abusive invective against these ‘unscientific’ courses and in fact one university has removed a degree course because of all the fuss that was created by these champions of science. They have not asked for theology or philosophy courses to be removed and I am at a loss as to why this is because they certainly are not ‘science’.
What has Dr.Big Mouth who writes for this trivial paper to say to this? Incidentally if he was so clever, why is he not writing for a newspaper that carries more weight? It has also come to my attention that this King of Quackbusters has not been altogether honest with his readership. He has conveniently forgotten to mention his connections to corporate science and the fact that the pharmaceutical lobby via the EU are gunning for natural health because over there our Continental ‘partners’ do not allow lay practitioners to practice medicine. Only orthodox doctors are allowed to climb the rarefied heights of allopathic doctoring with its monopoly, status and big money. They certainly do not want any competition from the medical pretenders like the homeopaths or nutritionists. Their professional snobbery is gut-wrenching and nauseating in the extreme.
And this unfortunately is what the EU is trying to impose on the UK via the Food Supplement and Herbal Directives that were passed into law by a corrupt government. In this drive for harmonisation their restrictive and oppressive laws that govern natural health are being implemented here. Many natural health practitioners unfortunately have not yet woken up to this fact, either because they have not bothered to become informed or because they are naďve.
Because many members of the public are abandoning orthodox therapies in favour of more holistic ones, the mainstream science nannies fear that we are in danger of abandoning rationality and that we need protection against the forces of superstition. This has led them to launch an unbridled attack on all types of natural medicine. With a level of toxicity hitherto unmatched by previous critics of alternative medicine, these moral guardians of the public good, have now come out in force, like the Harpies of Greek mythology, they are attacking unconventional medicine with venom.
A compliant and uncritical media are also attacking alternative therapy and its practitioners from all fronts and most newspapers never print a counter-argument if a natural health practitioner has their reputation trashed. They are acting as the judge, jury and executioner and damaging natural medicine’s image in the eyes of the public. Many people are not swayed but a lot could be and this is immoral as it means they will be put off taking steps to keep themselves well with natural therapies. In a democracy such reprehensible behaviour should not be allowed but have we a shred of democracy left? It takes a lot of money to sue these powerful forces and this is why they are getting away with it.
For example, a particularly vocal oncologist said that healing could cause harm – how could this be done? Well, if someone had a mental condition apparently healing can make this worse. How? Unfortunately he did not explain, nor did he furnish us with the gold standard ‘clinical trials’ to support his hypothesis so beloved of orthodox medicine. In all this concern for the public he did not mention the harm that orthodox drugs do, many of them being unnecessary, but prescribed anyway because allopaths are given bonuses to reach New Labour’s neddy targets. Very ethical I must say.
The other argument used is usually – ‘there is also the possibility that if patients feel encouraged to place their faith in ‘unqualified’ alternative charlatans and healers of all types, then some of them may give up vital orthodox medical treatments in favour of these ‘unproven and dangerous’ treatments instead of going along to their G.P.’. How many ‘qualified’ GP’s botch up diagnosis, treatments and even kill their patients? Do you remember Dr. Shipman anybody? Over 200 deaths and they are still counting. Any whisper or peep from these Quackbusters? I don’t hear anything.
Obviously these medical men, so concerned about public welfare, have not heard of freedom of choice in a democratic society. If we can no longer choose the type of healthcare we wish to have for ourselves, then we no longer live in a free society. Instead we are living in one where we are ruled by orthodox doctors in tandem with politicians in the pocket of the big corporations. Secondly, if people go to their GP – if they can get an appointment under the NHS – the only solutions offered will be platitudes, drugs or surgery, or if they give information on alternative medicine, 99 out of 100 times this information is wrong. What information they do give out when talking about subjects they know nothing about, is an adulterated form of natural medicine combined with allopathic modalities which will not work, could be dangerous, and further damages the reputation of the true natural therapists.
We are now suffering an enormous assault on our health freedoms from the European Union via the
political poodles dancing to the EU’s tune. Ever since the Food Supplement Directive was passed into
UK law, amid a firestorm of political reaction, natural therapists have been the subject of the type of
Quackbuster thuggery that has appeared in many newspapers but one in particular.
However, the fightback has begun – I recommend that you read Cultural Dwarfs and Junk Journalism by

against these unjust attacks by the Statists of New Labour and the EU whose Fabian credentials have
been exposed for all to see. The Quackbusters may be quacking no longer because they will have to Duck
the salvoes of the natural health practitioners who are now working together against them and also to
save our natural health freedoms world wide.
