There is a danger that those of us who practise alternative forms of healing are gradually going to be overtaken by mainstream medicine with all the attendant dangers that this poses. If the European Union has its way, only medical doctors will be able to give out prescriptions for vitamins above the RDA’s, unscientific though these are. Herbal and homeopathic medicines, aromatherapy oils and Bach flower remedies will also come under the cloven hoof of orthodoxy.

This may sound alarmist but unfortunately it is history repeating itself all over again. All types of alternative therapies have slowly become re-classified as ‘complementary’ therapies. This means that they can only complement orthodox medicine [they cannot take its place]. In one fell swoop organised medicine has put itself first in the pecking order. Top dog once again, can’t have those ‘quacks’ having any status can we?

Eventually these complementary therapies will be administered by allopathic doctors only, whose lack of knowledge in these fields is well known as is their intransigent hostility. Many are also actively antagonistic to them stating that they ‘do not work’ or ‘have never been scientifically proven’. A well known group of very vocal aggressive allopaths, whose absolutist generalisations about alternative medicine, resulting from their deeply held prejudices, are doing their best to get them abolished altogether. They are using a compliant media to get their poisonous messages out with monotonous regularity.

A new regulatory body called the Health Professions Council has already been set up to look at the qualifications of ‘therapists’ and only ‘approved’ diplomas will be allowed. Any governing body that governments set up will always mean State interference.

Anyone claiming to be a health professional must soon be registered with this Council. At the moment state-registered qualifications are being looked at. Before long the diplomas of alternative therapists will be under scrutiny and review. Is it likely that these diplomas and degrees will be approved by this EU/Government Quango made up of orthodox doctors?

Although it sounds very good that alternative therapists must be properly qualified, many of them already are. Most are genuine people who are not out to con the public. The schools that many have trained at have been non-traditional natural health schools. Because these natural health schools were not under State control they have been free to pursue the type of curriculum that orthodox medicine disapproves of.

These new EU regulations are attempting to put them out of business under the guise of do-goodery, to ‘protect the gullible public’. The real reason of course is that European doctors strongly disapprove of our freedom and independence here in the UK long protected under Common Law. The French and German allopaths are particularly hostile to the freedom we have long enjoyed here in the UK under Common Law. Whenever you hear the Orwellian word ‘harmonise’ it is to do with global laws and international collectives making these laws that every country must obey. Of course these ‘laws’ have never been democratically mandated and to have global laws you must of course have global government.

Our civil liberties are now being trashed by heavy handed EU bureaucratic interference so that we can be shoehorned into the type of conformity that the EU and its minions love. The EU does not like unusual, eccentric, or in any way different people because these type of individuals view bureaucrats with a jaundiced eye. They can see through them in other words.

The whole of the EU is one mammoth sclerotic structure hell bent on the destruction of anything that it does not approve of. The first salvo that was fired against alternative medicine came in the shape of the corrupt, unjust and absurd EU Food Supplement Directive followed on by the Herbal Directive. Any Herbalist who has practised for years will find that if they call themselves a herbalist – someone skilled in the use of herbs – they will be committing a criminal offence unless they have gone to a State-regulated University.

Is it likely that such a rigid and narrow curriculum will teach students that plants have an energy field? Enveloping the sacred art of herbalism into unbending, blinkered science is a travesty and a sacrilege. What will happen to all those people who grow herbs in their garden for culinary purposes? And if they are skilled in their use, making herbal tisanes from them and can rightly call themselves herbalists will they be jailed? Unfortunately herbal medicine has been under constant vicious attack and now homeopathy is coming under the EU cosh.

These two areas appear to provoke the ire of the orthodox doctors even more than other areas of alternative health, and that is saying something. It is probably because they lend themselves to being re-classified as drugs as they are taken in pill form and the powers-that-be can smell money. If they take these two disciplines over - they know people will not give them up – they can control them and make money at the same time.

How often do we read or hear in the media of the ‘dangers’ of this herb or that herb after a recent ‘scientific study’ has shown no end of so-called risks? We all know that scientific research can be skewed to show anything that the pharmaceutical company who funds it wants it to show. And there are plenty of unethical researchers with a vested interest willing to go along with this type of ‘research’. Unfortunately the narrow and bigoted view of organised medicine cannot see herbs as ecological healers that are gifts from a higher power to humanity. This smacks of mystical mumbo-jumbo to these secular extremists whose God is Science.

These High Priests of Medicine cannot understand that herbs can be used freely and safely as part of one’s lifestyle without thinking of them as drugs or medicines. Scientific medicine is blind to the fact that herbs are at their best when used preventatively. Orthodox doctors look at herbs as a source of chemicals that must be standardised. Unfortunately this reductionist view limits knowledge about herbs and restricts their healing power. Herbs work on the level of the body’s life force, a concept conventional medicine does not recognise or even accept. Herbs act as homeostatic agents, helping the body to maintain a steady internal state of balance.

Chemical drugs made in a laboratory by man do not work towards this integration of the body system and in the hands of allopathic doctors chemicals will always be the first line of action.

Equally they fail to understand the underlying principles of homeopathy, dismissing this system of medicine as either quackery or a placebo. Their sheer arrogance and conceit in dismissing what they do not understand is nothing short of outright bigotry. And the constant calumnies levelled at alternative therapists is sickening to behold. The assumption is that being one of these therapists is per se a deception and the practitioner is defrauding the client and exploiting their ‘vulnerability’. To call yourself an alternative therapist you must either be a fraud or a charlatan.

Holistic medicine teaches us to look within for healing. Modern medicine teaches the opposite. It teaches that we must look without – to experts, therapists, doctors or other health professionals whom the State approves of. This system has conditioned people to hand over their power to these State-registered ‘experts’. Unfortunately they can only ‘aid’ the patient as the responsibility for healing comes from within the person themselves. This is why every day there is another medical catastrophe in hospitals and surgeries, from drug side effects to appalling misdiagnoses and botch surgeries. This is what happens when a society becomes dependent on ‘experts’ instead of having knowledge to administer to their own health except in situations where a medical opinion may be warranted.

People are now encouraged to be so disempowered they can do nothing for themselves anymore. Even a bottle of vitamins, a food supplement, has to have a label on it warning that ‘a doctor must be consulted first’ before they take any of the contents if they have any medical condition. This re-labelling came straight from the EU as well, and if you check labels carefully, you will see they are regularly updated, with each new Warning becoming more prescriptive.

These warnings are of course covert government messages to get a population to behave in a certain way. If you did go and consult an orthodox doctor about alternative medicine, their knowledge would be poor or at best they may have done a week-end course. Is that what you would call qualified? Even the ones who purport to give natural medical advice talk unmitigated hogwash most of the time. Your knowledge will be greater and you do not need their sanction to take a food which is what a vitamin or a herb is.

How then can such a different philosophy as allopathic medicine take over the alternative therapies with their holistic world view and man’s place within it? How can people, some who are militant atheists, and who do not believe nor understand these concepts, become the new ‘complementary’ therapists as is the case in Europe? These mainstream scientists who believe that they are God can hardly be called a safe pair of hands to take over our precious natural medicine. It would be the equivalent of putting the fox in the hen house and expecting it to behave. They will never safeguard natural health because they simply do not believe in it.

In the UK we have a vitamin culture that is not compatible with the Continental countries. There is a culture clash, and dragooning us into a ‘harmonised’ system will not work and do untold damage to our health freedoms here in the U.K. When the EU Food Supplement & Herbal Directives were implemented into UK law we began to see our freely available health food supplements and essential nutrients severely restricted. Where will this now leave the alternative therapists who advise clients but are having the tools of their trade removed by the State? Out of a job.

Can unqualified politicians who pass legislation and doctors ignorant and opposed to natural health principles understand that herbs and plants have an aura, an electromegnetic energy field and are influenced by the phases of the Moon? Do they understand Nature’s Laws and live by them or do they think Nature is there to be controlled? Well, you know the answer, to them this is a lot of New Age nonsense believed only by the feeble minded.

Ask yourself do you believe that a handful of men and women who run the Government/Medical agencies that make our laws have the right, the wisdom or the alternative health qualifications to decide for you which health modality will best protect your health and wellbeing? Or do you, like me, believe that you are the one who decides and that it is your fundamental human right to do so? What better definition of fascism do you have than that you will not be free to do with your own body, in pursuit of your own health, what you want?

Millions believe as I do but their pleas to save our supplements fell on deaf ears. It was Abe Lincoln who said ‘No man is good enough to govern another man without that other’s consent’ and the European Union does not have the consent of millions of natural health users.

We are at a crossroads once again and if people do not take action, alternative health will be overtaken as it was at the turn of the Century, only to emerge some 70 years later during the Hippy era of the 1960’s. Can we afford to wait another 70 years before we regain control once again? The answer is obvious. So let this crisis in alternative health care be our opportunity to make sure that we work towards putting medical freedom on the statute books so that no Government can ever take away this important freedom without our consent, and remember for this to happen we must become active politically and never empower the globalists who are working towards their Codex dominated global empire of human populations treated only with surgery or drugs.
