Various so-called ‘experts’ have been viciously attacking natural medicine and its practitioners over the last few years. These are the rational scientists, the High Priests of science and reason, the arbiters of all that is good in medicine according to their dogma. Banded together like a lynch mob these angry Ayatollas are fighting a rearguard action against natural medicine. They continue to object to alternative therapists and their ‘irrational and unscientific’ practices, denouncing them at every turn with their diatribes.

They are not open-minded and have no respect for any other approach to health other than their own. They have not heard of the dictum ‘there are many roads to wellness’ and have plugged their ears up to anything other than their own narrow viewpoint. They represent the polarised, dogmatic thinking that surrounds allopathic medicine.

From the mid-1800s until the turn of the century the use of herbs and homeopathic medicines was extremely popular in Europe and North America. Today’s scientists sneer at this type of medicine believing that with the advance of science these medical approaches have become redundant. With the rise of orthodox medicine the pharmaceutical companies became more powerful until today we find that they will do anything to stamp out competition, and Natural Medicine is certainly competition. For every herb or homeopathic remedy a person takes in preference to a drug their profits suffer and so do their shareholders. Corporate medicine has taken over our public healthcare institutions and its cohorts and they are interested only in profit. Another problem medical science faces is a growing public disenchantment with its toxic therapeutics. People have begun to realise that a medical system based only on surgery or drugs is at best incomplete and at worst hazardous. With thousands dying every year from iatrogenic diseases we are witnessing a system that is sinking like the Titanic. The cost alone of this type of medicine has outstripped society’s ability to pay for it.

People are turning instead to remedies steeped in ancient wisdom. Remedies that not only heal but help to prevent disease. However, in this climate of disinformation to say a natural medicine can have any kind of beneficial value is absolute heresy. By law the words ‘cannot cure, treat or prevent disease’ have to appear on natural health supplements. On over-the-counter homeopathic remedies the words ‘without proven therapeutic benefit’ appear. This is untrue and this type of propaganda is actually stopping people staying well. I actually believe that the powerful elites do not want people to know how to stay well because disease is big business.

During the turn of the century the increasingly powerful American Medical Association saw practising homeopaths and natural therapists as a threat and in tandem with the pharmaceutical companies who were on the rise at the time stepped in to stamp them out. They had considerable political clout and by and large were successful. We are now witnessing a resurgence of a powerful attack on these natural therapies that are more an art combined with intuition than hard science. We are beginning to experience a replay of what went before. We must not let them succeed like they did in the past. The same tactic is being tried again so that conventional medicine can protect its power and control over the individual. This is the reason why the Quack Busters of scientific reason are wheeled out at every turn to denigrate and pillory the ‘mystic’ therapies as they view them and their touchy-feely practitioners. They believe that theirs is the only true medicine and everything else is mumbo jumbo. Aided and abetted by a pharma-funded media who does not want to lose the considerable advertising revenue it receives, the spin and disinformation against these therapies continues to gain momentum.

Only yesterday we had another indignant Quack Buster on TV ridiculing the unscientific alternative therapists and their extravagant health claims. With lofty superiority he angrily announced how upset he was that science is mistrusted. After all that science has done for us, what ingrates we are turning to alternative therapies in droves. He launched a blistering invective against alternative health and its exponents. With an evangelical zeal akin to a religious fanatic he even had the nerve to state that words like ‘science’ ‘quantum’ and ‘energy field’ were being used by these tree-hugging hippies. Presumably he would like these words to become ‘protected’ and to be able to be used only by orthodox science! What kind of fascist nonsense is this? We are already witnessing the protection of the term ‘herbalist’. A herbalist is one who is skilled in the use of herbs. Not any more, only a practitioner approved by the State can use the title, anyone else using it will be a criminal who breaks the law. Nowhere in the broadside launched by this ‘man of reason’ was there a whisper of the scientific fraud that takes place. It might also be of interest to him to note that many conventional medical practices lack any real scientific basis and first and foremost he should concentrate his energies on looking into these.

The usual old saw that is used when dark forces of orthodoxy are on the attack is that the public need to be ‘protected’ by the removal of these unproven therapies. When they say ‘unproven’ what they mean is that they do not meet the dictates of 21st Century reductionist science. Compared to the general population, people who use alternative therapies are better educated and very well informed. They know what they are doing and do not need ‘protection’ from safe, non-toxic substances protected under stringent UK food laws for decades. There have been thousands of research papers published on their benefits, most if not all conveniently ignored. Unfortunately until we have more forward-looking doctors who recognise the virtues of natural medicine we will continue to have the type of harm inflicted by high tech medicine that we see every day in our failing hospitals. For every patient that is improved many others are made worse or even die from adverse reactions to pharmaceutical drugs or surgery that went wrong, was unnecessary or was successful but the patient died anyway.

Homeopathy came in for most of the bashing from this agent of the State and most of his ire was directed at the fact that his taxes were being used to fund such quackery and the charlatans who peddle it. Because he could not understand how it works he assumes that it does not work. Just like the flat-earthers of old, they could not see anything but a flat earth, so the earth was flat. He wanted clinical trials and all the paraphernalia that is used to test conventional drugs. ‘Only this will prove that it works’ was his cry. It is absolutely ludicrous that orthodox medicine should suggest that their rules of evidence be applied to homeopathy or any of the other alternative therapies. The assumption is that herbs or homeopathic medicine should work like drugs. They are not drugs and therefore their method of proof can never be judged by conventional means.

Because of scientific arrogance and blinkered thinking about Nature, man believed that he could control Her mighty forces. We are now witnessing the result of this disrespectful thinking. We have reached a point where the anti-biotic wonderdrugs that science thought would be the cure for all man’s ills are proving ineffective against the superbugs that have evolved in order to survive. So little bacteria with no brain have actually outsmarted the learned boffins in their laboratories! The pointy-headed intellectuals are running around like headless chickens wondering how they will be able to conquer the next plague which threatens to reach Biblical proportions when it hits because just about every antibiotic has now become impotent against these new mutant pathogens thanks to their over-prescribing. I remember alternative therapists warning that this would happen years ago and they were ridiculed for their trouble. They fought against medical intransigence then as now and they were again proved right.

Our materialistic society has had up until now a great faith in science and technology, the two demi-gods of a secular age. Conventional doctors are so self-important that they do not believe that they can learn from alternative practitioners, they obviously think they have all the answers. With a hubris that is dangerously inflamed they sit on unelected Quangoes and Committees and ban natural remedies that they know nothing about but can get away with it because they are sanctioned by the State. This absolute conceit is found everywhere you look in the scientific world.

The European Union whose laws now take priority over ours has empowered this army of natural health destroyers. Like the Japanese knotweed these unjust laws have spread and are the reason we are seeing the rise like a miasma of these so-called experts, working to the agenda of natural health destruction. In order to halt these health fascists before it is too late we must leave the European Union. As a free and self-governing nation once again we will be able to stop the vandalism taking place against our healing therapies and overthrow the tyranny of these dictator-experts and their ilk. If we do not, these enemies of alternative medicine will not desist until they have destroyed the alternative therapies and its lay practitioners forever.
