Just as the National Institute
for Health and Clinical Excellence (sic) (NICE) is being legally challenged over
Alzheimer's treatment, so it will come to pass that unless these CFS/ME Draft
NICE Guidelines are fundamentally altered at every level, so it will be legally
challenged over ME/CFS. The irony of all this is that NICE is proposing
to spend some £180million that the National Health Service has not got, on
CBT/GET that the patients do not want, for mild to moderately affected ME/CFS
labelled patients. NICE is proposing to hand out millions upon millions of
pounds hand over fist to a very small group of British psychiatrists on highly
flawed, experimental treatments whilst refusing to take the Expert Patient
views and those of other doctors on board. It is these psychiatrists alone who
will benefit from the NICE expenditure on ME/CFS. And, of course, the legal profession.
