I was at the big March in London on 5/8/06 calling for an immediate Ceasefire in Lebanon with a 'Yo Blair, Go Blair - Hands off Lebanon' placard. We were shouting right outside Downing Street and apparently Tony Blair was there! People threw children's shoes to symbolise the deaths of children in Lebanon. The press reported 15,000 - 30,000 but there was at least half a million protestors. While we were in Parliament Square listening to the speeches, the police reported that the march extended right back to Piccadilly Circus. George Galloway spoke among many other prominent people. The police were very restrained (even when people were throwing shoes outside Downing Street!)
